I'm a Data Analyst & Scout at Unique Sports Group. My job is to use data and video to identify players for the clubs we work with — building player ratings, profiling positions, watching games live and on video, and presenting recommendations to coaching staff and directors.

Before football, I spent six years at Sky Betting & Gaming as a football trader. The analytical skills I built there — working with data, understanding probability, making decisions under pressure — turned out to be directly transferable to recruitment analytics.

The COVID lockdowns in 2020 gave me the push to start sharing analysis work online. I didn't know anyone in the industry. I couldn't code. I'd never heard of Tableau. But I started posting on X, got feedback from the community, and one thing led to another.

Freelance work with clubs and agents came first. Then part-time roles alongside my day job. Then full-time employment at Heart of Midlothian FC. Now I'm at Unique Sports Group working across multiple clubs.

Along the way, I founded The Recruitment Room — a membership community that helps aspiring football professionals bridge the gap between knowledge and opportunity. We focus on four pillars: analysis skills, scouting, building an online portfolio, and employment skills. Over 250 people have come through the programme, and many have gone on to land roles at professional clubs.
